Service Description

Regulated by the Department of Commerce and Insurance, Unarmed Guard Training will prepare you for an exciting career within the security industry. This course far exceeds the state requirements and is specifically designed to prepare you for a wide range of roles in the security industry. The intense 4-hour curriculum will provide a solid foundation to build your career. All students must complete the course, which includes orientation, legal powers and limitations of a security guard/officer, emergency procedures, General duties, and a written examination covering these subjects Information covered includes but is not limited to the following: • The importance of your image • How your actions can place civil & criminal liability on you & your company • Report writing • Civil and criminal laws and legal obligations as a security officer or supervisor under Title 62-39 and 40 of the T.C.A. Codes • Powers of arrest and the security officer • Why arrest and use of force is always a last resort • Basic First Aid Requirements for becoming a TN Unarmed Guard include the following: • Be at least 18 years of age. • Be a citizen of the United States or a resident alien. • Not have been declared by any court of competent jurisdiction incompetent by reason of mental defect or disease • Conviction of the following crimes may disqualify an applicant: Any felony; or any misdemeanor involving: Shooting a firearm or other weapon, Shoplifting, Assault and battery or other act of violence against persons or property, Crimes involving the sale, manufacture or distribution of controlled substances, drugs or narcotics, Theft of property, or Theft of services; • Be of good moral character. • Submit electronic fingerprints. • Must meet the statutory training requirements Some goals of the Unarmed Guard Course include: • Gain a comprehensive understanding of an unarmed security officer’s definition, roles, responsibilities, and authority to ensure you are prepared for your duties. • Understand the purpose and regulations outlined in the Tennessee Private Protective Services Licensing and Regulatory Act and Administrative Rules - Rule 0780-05-02. • Comprehend the basic principles of effective foot/vehicle patrols and how situational awareness and defensive driving aid the security officer. • Comprehend general terminology and basic access control strategies used to protect property, assets, or people.

Cancellation Policy

Participant may only reschedule one (1) time with a minimum of 48 hours' notice. Otherwise, a new class will need to be booked and appropriate payment paid. If you have a group of participants that will be attending, use coupon code GROUP10 for a group of 2-6 participants, and GROUP20 for a group of 6-10 participants for special group prices. All employees of BLACK FLAG SECURITY, LLC enter code EMP for a special employee discount. Group prices are only accepted with one form of payment. If less participants than the group paid for attend, the payment will be adjusted to reflect the correct amount per person. Any participant that uses any coupon without the appropriate group size or employment status will be refused participation and will be dismissed.
